In the foundation course we learned different techniques of meditation. Each of its sessions builds on what has been learnt previously so that at the end we have a fair idea of how to meditate. However real progress comes gradually from continued practice over time.
Once we know how to meditate it is important to deepen our experience by coming back to the same meditation day after day. This series provides an opportunity to practice simple meditations with minimal guidance and plenty of time for the meditation itself. Doing the same practice day after day allows us to deepen our experience and develop our confidence and stability.
For each meditation there are two options: a session of 15 minutes or a session of 30 minutes.
The principle is that each person can choose the meditation that they wish to concentrate on and practice the same one each day for some time, perhaps a week or more. It is not necessary to systematically go through all the meditations one after another in any particular order or even to do all of them. Choose a meditation that suits you and practice it again and again. Choose the length you prefer. If you have time you might like to do the 30 minute version and when you have less time the 15 minute version. No need to force yourself to do the longer session. Choose what works for you.
